Does anybody know more about a stein I have seen a couple times over the years–it is a relief stein showing two men walking thru a forest, they appear to be leaning on each other for support, and the trees are reaching out with their branches much like a scene from Snow White.

    Ken,

We need a photo to help you. Also take a photo of any identifying marks.

Here’s how to place a photo on SteinTalk: http://stein-collectors.org/how-to-place-photos-in-steintalk/

George, I don’t have this stein, I have only seen it a couple times as I indicated and was asking if anyone else knows more about this stein.

    Ken,
I think the stein that you are referring to is made by Reinhold Hanke – mold 1435. I too have found the stein interesting. I’ve always assumed that the tree creatures were just manifestaions of their drunkenness, but it could be an allusion to something that I’m unaware of in German lore.
