I am trying to place an age on this 1/2L pewter stein and to learn more about it. It is heavy, 2lbs 3oz, shows wear and bings including where the hinge hits the handle. Inside it is marked “Prob Zinn” and the maker’s name, L. Becker. With the 1/2L capacity existing (in a rather unusual location?) it would seem this places the stein no older than 1875, but the stein looks to be a decade or two older than that. The handle shape is made particularly elongated, if that means anything. Not a particularly beautiful pewter stein, but I do find it interesting. Hopefully, more can be learned about it here. Thanks!
