I’m hoping that this German bottle in the shape of a giraffe was made by one of the stein makers and the mark will be known to you. Could just be a badly impressed H but looks a bit like an Eckhardt & Engler mark….but no crossbar. The series included the giraffe, a monkey, and a cat that I know of. Maker doesn’t seem to be known to the general pottery collecting public, but this is also the first one that I’ve seen with a mark. Height is about 10 1/4″ and figuring early 20th century origin. (Impressed mark is in the upper right portion of the base photo.)
    Thanks.

    Forrest,

Try a Schafer & Vater bottle site. They may have a better idea on who made it.

Thanks…..but no luck there either. Really thought the mark would trigger an attribution somewhere….
