I need to find information about a limited edition beer stein by Gerz which I have not found on the internet. I hope someone knows about GERZ steins, there value, just general information which I don’t already have.
Here’s what I have: It’s 14 1/2″ tall, from handle to the other side it’s 8″, a bulbous v-shaped bottom, dancing people all around the stein, bottom of the v-shaped section are fruits, veges and an SS11 done in gold.
There is a round gold stamp in the bottom center which reads, Limited Edition Guaranteed by……….with signature, a stamp 664/1.500. A book style label, never removed, which reads Certificate of Authenticity GERZ, the other side reads, Qualitats-Zertifikat Vom Keramik-Fachmann…….Kruge Sind Unser Bier. If anyone responds to this message I can send pics ASAP.
Thank you in advance, as I have searching for a long time.

Normally you have to post a link to photo’s to get an answer here. But you have said enough that I can comment generally. It is a modern, post-war stein and while it is genuinely German these are so common that they do not command a high value. Gerz was a fine old company which unfortunately went out of business a few years ago. Stein collectors, at least those here in SCI, do not find limited edition claims useful nor paper certificates of authenticity. You can read plenty more about Gerz on this site and sites in the link section, as well as an explanation of the meaning of SS11.
