    Hi,

I recently acquired a few steins and am having difficulty identifying a couple of them. The first one is a Merkelbach & Wick (at least it’s stamped as such), but I can’t find another one like it or even similar. The second one (white porcelain) has no marking at all. It has a crack along the bottom, but is still very handsome. The lid seems to be heavier than most steins this size.
I appreciate any assistance on ID and/or value. I’ve posted a few photos here

    Thanks!

I couldn’t find your MW stein in any of the catalogs. What is the size and condition? It is not uncommon to find porcelain steins, particularly lithophanes, to be unmarked. The scene is from a Franz Defregger painting, The Zither Player. The damage detracts from its value, maybe $25 to $40 at most.

      Hey Ron,

Thanks for the info. The MW stein is a 1 Liter and is in good shape. There is some fine crazing around the handle and top/bottom rims (the unpainted area), but there are no chips or cracks.
