I am trying to identify and see if there is a value or interest in a stein I have inherited and can’t find the exact stein anywhere online so far. On the bottom is clearly GERZ W. Germany. The picture is of a lute player sitting at a table with another man and two women. Inscription at bottom under table reads: Auf der Alm. Under the handle is inscribed A. Madel Beim Bier – 1st Mein Plasier. It is NOT in color as some I have seen online – it is blue/brown. It has a pewter lid and in the lid is DGBM (yes, that is the order of the letters). I have only seen DBGM online. It is in excellent condition and I doubt has ever been used. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks, Steve

    Stephen,

Here are a couple from the Internet, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Gerz-Aufder-Alm-A-Madel-Beim-Bier-1st-Mein-Plasier-German-Stein-Rare-/333314855483 and https://www.liveauctioneers.com/item/1902345_1392-blue-ceramic-german-stein-by-gerz-with-pewter-lid. The blue one on Live Auctioneers sold for $12. The initials on the pewter may have just been reversed in error.

Thanks for the links – I have seen both of them and that’s not the same. How do I upload an image to my message or can’t we do that here?

      Stephen,

I realize they are not the same as the one you describe, but I don’t think your stein would be more valuable. You can display photos, just see the instructions listed.
