I have this Christmas Stein I am looking for the manufacturer. There is no mark on the bottom, however, the first picture I have posted is of a present in the sleigh that has some lettering: m&w (at least that’s what I see). Could it be Merkelbach & Wick? <ahref=”http://www.charactersteins.com/csbook/mw.htm”>
The lid does look tarnished on top, could be pewter? I am new to this, so I’m not sure. It is a beautiful blue colored stoneware.
Please let me know your opinions! Thank you!

      Jenaye,

I don’t think the lettering you see on the package has anything to do with the maker. The stein looks to be from the modern era, post WWII. Merkelbach & Wick went out of business in 1921. Your best bet is to watch ebay and hopefully one will show up with the original paperwork.
