    Dear friends,

I inherited two steins which belonged to my great-grandfather, Ludwig Caspar Launspach, born in Reiskirchen, Hessen in 1863, died in Los Angeles, CA in 1924. One of them is a well-marked Merkelbach which Ludwig received from his regimental comrades after he completed his military service in 1882. The other is much smaller, with no lid. Below are links to some photos of the stein in question:

I’d appreciate any advice about this stein.

    Best thanks – Grant Menzies

    Hello Grant,

What you have is a Marzi & Remy without the lid…

You can learn more about Marzi & Remy here: http://www.steinmarks.co.uk/pages/pv.asp?p=stein164

And you can learn more about the stein you have here on the beer stein library: https://www.beerstein.net/item.asp?ItemNum=mar-1821

    Best regards,
    George
