I’ve looked in my stein book and on stein marks but I am not able to identify this mark.

    Joe,

Can you post photos of the stein?

This is a stein that I posted in a earlier post, “Large Steins 3L and up”. I expected it to have a mark from Girmscheid because of the handle and the capacity mark.

Upon a closer look of the capacity mark I think it looks a lot like the one that listed for SPG on the capacity mark website listed in TBSL. I don’t think it was produced by SPG because of the handle and no markings that have been associated with SPG. There is also no mold number and after the exclamation point there is a odd design.

The phrase comes from a Theodor Storm poem titled “Oktoberlied”. The stein marks website thinks it is most likely an inspection mark. If this is the case, is it possible to determine the maker based off of the inspection mark?

TBSL has said the mark is found on Girmscheid steins.
