    Hello all,
I have this stein and three more that are similar. I’m trying to figure out the ‘who’ and ‘when’ on them. The decoration looks to be a faience style. I have it posted on stein facebook. Thoughts?

    Hi CtBob,

Unless others here can tell just from the image on the body, it’s generally helpful to have nice clear pictures of the base of the stein, the hinge area, any capacity mark on the body, and the pewter area under the lid. Those locations generally contain markings or better indications of both age and the possible maker.

Based on the fact that it does not have a pewter footring and because of the type of lid that is on it, it does not appear to be very old, probably less than 50 years.

There are multiple articles about identifying antique faience steins on this site – http://www.steveonsteins.com/guest-writers-articles-8-identifing-faience-steins-part-1-comparisons-of-north-german-south-german-by-william-hamer-new-1-8-12
