I recently acquired a glass stein but some of the lettering and fine enameled vine lines have worn off. The lettering and lines are very fine, I don’t see how they could be painted back on. Did stein makers use any sort of stamp or other device to imprint these very fine details or was it indeed hand painted with a very fine brush? Also, does anyone work with this type of restoration? Thx, Ken

Ken, some stein makers used black and clear transfers then had them colored with paint. I don’t know of any professional restorers for this, but I’ve seen some trying it.
