Ron, I believe you may be correct. I looked up several other Girmscheid steins, and the markings on the bottom are very similar. They have "Germany", a serial #, and another separate number inscribed on the bottom. I took a second look at the bottom of mine and the number is definitely 1090, which is also inscribed on the side of the stein. Any ideas on how old it might be? Thanks, Tom
