I recently bought a beuatiful enameled glass stein on ebay with a porcelain inlaid lid (King Ludwig). When I received the stein I was surprised to see that the porcelain was not visible from the underside of the lid (as is typical). Instead the bottom of the porcelain is concealed by a flat plate of pewter marked EPBC ZINN with a hanging-balance-scale symbol. Somewhere I seem to recall if pewter is marked Zinn it is modern not antique. Can someone confirm whether this is a moder stein based on markings?
