A 1930's stein which is marked Western Germany would be quite rare, probably one of a kind, since Western Germany did not exist until after the end of World War II in 1945. That aside, the great majority of steins made post-WWII were made as tourist souvenirs or gift purposes, and these steins rarely hold their original value. There are, however, a number of post-war steins which have appeal to collectors and consequently have better values. These include some limited edition steins, some reproductions of historical pieces, and some series or branded steins, like Schultz & Dooley, or A-B, or NASCAR. Without a clear description or photos of your stein, there is no way to judge value.
