Freddie, Knickerbocker was a beer brewed by Ruppert Brewery (at one time it was the largest brewer in the United States) in New York. It was the beer of the New York Giants, a National League Baseball Club. The brewery was owned by Jacob Rupert, who ironically owned the New York Yankees, an American League Baseball Club. I believe knickerbocker is the name of the pants worn by the Dutch who were early settlers of New York. This is where the New York Knicks, a National Basketball League team, got their nickname. I recall one of these steins having an engraving for a sporting event prize. I don't know the current value or who made the stein. Ron
