Hello I just bought a stein at a flea market for 15 bucks.. Missing its lid. I was able to identify it as a Girmsheid by the twisted vine handle and using this site. It is 2 1/2 liter. Perfect in all other ways. A 1/2 liter is listed in Kirsner 3rd editon with a pottery lid. My question is this. Is there any way of knowing if mine had a pottery or a pewter lid. It has a pewter thumblift still attached. Also, the cost to repair for me is unknown and I do not want to have it repaired and be upside down on it. Thank you.
