My father left me a cobalt blue pewter lidded Gerz stein that he got in Germany many years ago. I would like to give it to my nephew for Christmas and was trying to find out a bit of information about it to include. It's blue and gray, lidded and approximately 11 1/2 inches tall from bottom to top of lid (8 1/2 from bottom of stein to rim of stein). On the bottom is a triangular insignia with a figure inside and the words 'GERZ n Germany'. The figures on the stein show people sitting around a table with glasses of beer (I assume) and the words in German translate to 'A good drink makes all young.' I will try to attach photos with this post. I apprecaite any info - I don't think it's valuable, but it belonged to my Dad (his grandfather) and that makes it priceless. Thanks, Randall I have contacted Bob and Jody (from this website) in hopes that they can help me post a link to the photos I have.
