Jeff, I think the reason that you haven’t received a response yet is that you haven’t given enough information to identify your stein. Accurate identification usually needs a picture or two. I think your best source of information is your girlfriend. Ask her where she got it. If she purchased it at a retail outlet, it is probably a modern stein, made after the early 1990s. If she got it at an antique store, it could be older, made prior to WWII. It sounds like it was made as a souvenir, and while those steins are collectible, they are not highly sought after my most collectors. Don’t worry about authenticity I am sure it is authentic. You wanted a stein and now you have one. Enjoy it.
