Ron. I have tended to avoid where possible, rewrites of history and use only contemporaneous documents for my histories. I am not saying the rewrites are wrong, merely that I have found no evidence for the claims. It is exceedingly easy to believe anything one sees in modern print or even worse the internet and accept it as fact. Ideally I will only accept a fact where I have corroberating evidence from two of more historical documents. Even then I am not quite sure!!!
