Chris, I have no idea what that comment has to do with the discussion. If you don't want to accept Keramik-Marken Lexikon as a legitimate source that is your business, but the author has done many years of research and consulted many sources in Germany. If you want people to accept your word as final authority, then you need to show proof that the other authority is in error. We could be talking two different Walter Muellers, but I don't think so. Keramik-Marken Lexikon dates the consortium of Gerz, Hanke, R Merkelbach and Mueller as dating from 1912. That date seems to coincide with the financial difficulties the Mueller firm was experiencing, so perhaps he did join them in a non-manufacturing basis. The Addressbuch you cite has its errors too. I saw the name Thewald and asked Albert if that was a different branch of the family. He said it was just a misspelling. You can find such mistakes in our directories too. I think Steinzeugwerke and Steinzuegfabrik may just be different spellings for the same association. It seems unlikely that there would be two associations in the same area with such similar names.
