Ron, I appear to have hit a nerve! The point I am trying to make is that where possible the research of Stein Marks is original. I try not to recycle old rewritten research. The publication to which you refer is dated 1994. Much original research has been done since then. Ask yourself how many stein companies have been identified since 1994. Your reply makes so many assumptions in its content that have no basis in evidence, ie guesswork! The spelling of Mullenbach & Thewald in the year's address books was identical between 1910 & 1939. If your name was incorrect in a directory, would you not have corrected it? And finally your guess that there was only one trade organisation is incorrect, contemporaneous documents list several at different addresses and with different dates and different members. I happily accept criticism where justified and happily make changes if I am incorrect. What I do not accept is my blindly entering facts into Stein Marks without checking them.
