Forest, Bill G was correct on the second stein too, it was made by White's Pottery of Utica. It appears on page 33 of the book, White's Pottery: A Pictorial Review. It is shown with a lid and the scene of the party in the cellar is in two colors, cobalt and an orange/brown. The frog would be best described as a surprise for the drinker when he finishes the beer.
