Michelle -- Your stein is a character stein made by Merkelbach & Wick. Per the Beer Stein Library, the writing translates to: "If you have a hangover, here's my advice, drink in the morning what you drank last night." The stein comes in both stoneware and pottery versions. Historic values are in $300-$400 range, however last year one in mint condition was sold at auction for $214, probably due to the current economy.
