The back-to-back E over an H is the mark of Eckhardt & Engler of Hoehr, Germany (now Hoehr-Grenzhausen as they merged in 1936). This mark does not date it prior to 1937 since E&E continued to use the mark after the two cities merged. E&E started out as a wholesaler at the turn of the century and began marketing steins for Rosskopf & Gerz (RuG) in 1907. E&E acquired their own kiln in 1907 and bought some RuG stein molds in 1914, They acquired the rest of the RuG molds in the 1920s when RuG went out of business due to bankruptcy. Your stein is a common relief souvenir beer stein. While it says Germany, based on its appearance it was probably made in post-WWII, but no later than E&Es closure in 1971. Ron
