Alex, they built a kiln for ivory stoneware (elfenbeinsteinzeug) around 1895. that would be when they began that line. I have no firm evidence when they stopped with the etched pieces, although I believe it must have been prior to WWII. I don't recall ever seeing an etched stein with West Germany marking.
