Alex, this is an example of a JW Remy stein. They made about 25 different models with these combined etched and relief characteristics. These are the only examples of both that I am aware were made in production by anyone from the era and area. There is a new area on the SCI website that is currently being developed that has photos copied from old stein manufacturers' catalogs. They are in the library section. You can search by model number and compare the picture with a stein and see if you can identify the maker by that. (The JWR catalogs do not show this family nor many of their etched steins.
