Alex, apparently this has been removed so I can't see it, but.... it is undoubtedly made by JWR. They did have saltglaze capability up until about 1942 when they dismantled this old kiln. I have two examples that were fired with the salt glaze process and you are right about being darker and the colors somewhat dull. I believe it is due to the higher firing temperature of the kiln which changes the glaze colors.
