Peter, The D&B mark you're referring to was used well into the 1950s, and is sometimes even found on steins in conjunction with the words "French Zone", a post WWII creation of the occupying allied forces. At some point in the early 1950s D&B issued several relief steins, all with mold numbers in the 900s. Those mold numbers are unrelated to the original D&B numbering system, which appears to have been abandoned after WWII. Given your stein's song and movie ties, it seems reasonable to conclude that it was produced circa 1950 or shortly thereafter. I'd appreciate it if you'd send some hi-res photos (front, sides, base)to info@beerstein.net. I'd like to add your stein to our online D&B catalog, along with a few others from the same era, but have been waiting to do so until I was better able to define the parameters of D&B's 1950s stein numbering system. Your example provides an important clue for solving that puzzle. Thanks, Frank
