I am just getting interested in steins. I recently found one at a yard sale. It is quite large, all wood with a ship (sort of like a viking ship) carved on one side, and some sort of castle or building on the other. The top of the handle is a horses head and the bottom is a circular designe. The stein interested me because of the craftsmanship. It is made out of about 1" pieces of wood and they fit together perfectly you can not see any gaps in the seams. I also like all of the carving detail. I asked the man I bought it from what he knew about it. He said he received it from his great grandma. She was from Estonia but he didn't know if that was where she had gotten it. I would love to show pictures of it to you. I have only just gotten a computer so I don't even understand the basics, but if you e-mailed me I could send pictures. I would love to find out if this stein was old, where it was made, if it was company made or Craftsman made (the work is beautiful and very precise) I would also like to know the approximate value. I had never paid much attention to steins but after trying to research this one and seeing other peoples steins I am finding myself amazed at their beauty and detail. Thank you for your patience. any help would be appreciated. My e-mail is Peppercorndog@ymail.com
