Hi David, yes these come in a plethora of various porcelain inlay scenes as well as solid flat pewter lids with various thumblifts. Some show the details more than others--it has to do with the way they were made--clay was pressed into a mold and if there wasn't quite enough or if the plunger wasn't pressed in fully the details were not as crisp as the clay did not get into all the crevices of the mold. You can read more on them by looking at the article I referenced. As usual, I enjoy the story behind the stein.
