Ceramic inserts were originally used to lower the cost of the lid as pewter was expensive circa 1900. The use of an all ceramic lid, such as used by Girmscheid, would have reduced the cost even further. In the case of character steins, the pewter, even around the edges of the lid, would be considered to detract from the effect of it being a character stein. It is safe to say that the all ceramic lid will reduce your value to below one million and the fact it is a modern era stein, W. Germany was from 1949-1989, you can whack off another three or four digits. I have no idea what the scene is since I haven't seen it. If you post a photo or provide a description, someone may be able to help you identify the scene. Ron
