Thanks so much, Ron. That's great info! I knew it was unique as I couldn't find anything like it and Steve's info is awesome - he has some pretty amazing stein pics. I think I just may have found a hobby. Yes, the tap still works. I believe it's in mint condition, save for perhaps said tap (it has BLEI FREI inscripted in it with a fancy 50 on the handle - don't think lead concerns would have been circa 1900?). The guy I bought it from said he bought it in Germany and sold it to me for what he paid (he was going out of business and was more than a few hundred. Oh well, I'll be more savvy next time). I bought it 'caus I was wowed by it and it's a great conversation piece - more seem to dislike than like it which makes me love it all the more :-) Cheers, Sam
