Can you tell me more about these steins, all acquired in Europe in the 1980s? *Thewalt 8 5/8" (21.9 cm) stein, ceramic lid & pewter hinge. Looks like castle turret w/ men around a table. Also 2 scrolls w/ the poem: "Das Leben Ist ein Würfelspiel/ wir würfeln alle Tage,/ dem einen gibt das Schicksal viel,/ dem andern Müh' und Plage." 1290 imprinted under handle. Marks: "Original Thewalt" (with logo), "Western Germany", and "2” *Thewalt 5 13/16" (14.8 cm) stein, pewter lid, hunter showing a puppy to a little girl. The lower edge reads, "O, Welche Lust Auf der Alm". Marks: "Original Thewalt" (with logo) and "Western Germany" *Painted character stein, 6 3/4" (17.1 cm) tall, shaped like the head of a smiling old man w/ brown hat. No marks but has "WW-Team" gold sticker *Painted character stein, 5 3/4" (14.6 cm) tall, w/ unrepaired crack, shaped like the head of (I think) Kaiser Franz Joseph. Near the foot, under his chin, printed black type: "WF Reutlinger/Alb 1986". No marks but has "Kossinger KG 8306 Schierling" gold sticker *Trick stein (holes inthe rim), 7" (17.8 cm) tall, unrepaired damage to foot and rim (we have the pieces).. Main design is a pheasant; smaller stag design to its left & doe-and-fawn to its right, all printed (not painted or glazed). No marks or stickers; glazed bottom *Assorted others, mainly souvenir steins We have some other steins but these are the ones that my untrained mind thinks are the most noteworthy. The others are mainly souvenirs printed with the names of places. So what do I have? Are these as interesting as I think they are? Is this the good start to a collection? A potential goldmine? Or just some old crockery taking up space?
