Chris, The only steins I have seen from the West Germany era (1949-1989)that can be identified with that era despite the fact it says "Made in Germany" would be some of the SCI convention steins. It is also possible that blanks may have been used from an earlier period. Do you have another method that you are able to date them to the 1949-1989 era? Ron
