Herzog Von, If your stein is marked "Made in Germany," then I think a date of late 1920s to the 1930s is more likely the era it was made in absent proof to the contrary. I don't have the book Chris references for his dates, so I don't know where that person obtained them. I based my comment to Don based on the date for the pewter mark on Chris' site and the fact the stein body did not look aged so that the "Made in Germany" mark could have been post 1989. Except for most Mettlach steins, dating is an art, not a science. Ron
