Mike, You probably haven't received an answer by now because there is not a lot of expertise here on English steins. You can probably figure that repairing the music box will not add value to your stein. Most stein collectors would be interested in the stein and not the music box. Since you do not intend to sell the stein, the cost of the repair is not relevant. Get an estimate of the cost, and determine in your own mind if the cost is worth it to you and your enjoyment of the stein.
