Ken, I suspect that your stein is not a true regimental, but rather one purchased after his service time and repainted to look like a regimental. Regimentals were only intended for the German military reservists and thus would not have a need to state it was made in Germany, which was reguired for exporting. Is your stein like Hanke 1145 shown on The Beer Stein Library? That was a blank stein that could contain various scenes, usually accompanied with a written design number. Can you post a photo?
