Kristina, You probably have mold 771 made by Mathias Girmscheid. The following is from The Beer Stein Library for that stein. “Behüt dich Gott, es wär so schön gewesen, behüt dich Gott, es hat nicht sollen sein.” (May God watch over you, it would have been so nice, may God watch over you, it was not meant to be.) Scene and text taken from a poem (Der Trompeter von Säckingen) written in 1885 by J. Viktor von Scheffel, which tells the story of a love affair between a trumpeter and a baron’s daughter. Original engraving entitled “Abscheid” (Farewell) done in 1888 by C. Schweninger. The value in mint condition probably ranges from $40 to $80 in mint condition depending on whether it is full-color or two-color and the lid is a character ceramic insert of a barmaid holding beers or a pewter lid. In each case the former will add to the value while the latter will subtract from the value. Ron
