Lucy, Is there damage to your stein? Are you sure he didn't say it wouldn't be worth putting it in a stein auction catalog by itself. The Stein Auction Company (Kirsner's auction company merged with TASACO) has a minimum commission of $60 per lot or 15%, whichever is larger. The buyer also pays a 15% commission. Thus, a reported auction price, which includes the buyer's premium, of $100 would only net the seller $27 ($100 minus buyer's premium of $13 and minus the minimum selling commission of $60). I think he is telling you it wouldn't be worth listing with their stein auction. You would do better trying to sell it yourself of listing it on eBay. Ron
