Hi Rich 1. Probably it is Bavarian as well, but with no guarantee :-) 2. "Droht" (as noun!) in dialect means "Draht" in high German and "wire" in English. So the translation is: "Now there is the wire, but who telegraphs me into the bed?" (But it is open whether the guy is too drunken to find the way home, whether he would like to spend the night with a girl or whether there is another reason for above question!)
