Any help identifying these two steins as to manufacturer, age, and value would be most helpful. The first stein is pottery, relief, incise marked 0.5L on the rim near the handle, and has a mold # 1837 in relief behind the handle on the body near the upper handle attachment. The base is incise marked with the mold #1837 and what looks like a small latin cross. There is also a handwritten black "3" under glaze. The pewter is heavy, steepled, and has an open hinge-five ring design. I also have not been able to translate the incised sayings - "Haidenroslein" under the male and female figures; as well as "Roslein sprach ich steche dich" and what appears to be "Kriabe sprach ich breche dich" on either side. http://web.tampabay.rr.com/wbaltz/MyWebPage/BeerSteins/WorkFolder2/ The second stein is pottery, relief, incise marked 1/2L on the rim near the handle, has a steepled heavy pewter lid with an open hinge-five ring design, and the base is made for a music box (not present). The base is incise marked with a mold # 614 and there is a small handwritten "48" under glaze. The main scene is flat and hand painted rather than a PUG. http://web.tampabay.rr.com/wbaltz/MyWebPage/BeerSteins/WorkFolder3/ Thank you for any help that you might be able to provide.
