Might as well just ask.
Pewter is made of lead. And lead is bad.
Now, I can understand how not using an all pewter stein for drinking makes sense. But the lid only... That's not a big deal after all, is it? If hte beer rarely contacts it, how much lead can one ingest?
Is this an issue that has ever been discussed and dismissed?
I gues I jsut want to know whathte community think of pewter lids.
