I have a regimental stein purchased by my parents in Germany in the early 1950s. I believe it is an original, but I would like to be certain, and also more about the soldier to whom it originally belonged. Also - it's approximately value. The stein is 11-1/2 inches tall, porcelain with a pewter lid. The finial is a cannon, the thumblift is a lion. There are no markings on the bottom, the handle is plain, but the outside does have 'ridges'. The lithopane is of a man and woman. The base has the reservist's name - it says, "Fini. - Freiw. Gefr. Schellenberger". There are two columns of names printed one the side, where the handle is - 48 names, with Schellenberger's name at the end of the right column. Underneath the name, on the base, the following appears: "5. Feldart. - Rgt. 'Konig Alfons XIII. v. Spanien' 5. Batt. Laundau 1908 1909" Hopefully I have interpreted the letters correctly. It is in excellent condition. Here are links to photos - there are two pages. http://www.geocities.com/slgarcia3/stein1.html and http://www.geocities.com/slgarcia3/stein2.html I would greatly appreciate any help. I've enjoyed reading through a lot of the posts here, and the website itself. Sheila
