Marc, Thanks for your quick response - BUT, I looked at the lithopane again, and the soldier is definitely holding a mug of beer in his right hand, and has his left hand on the shoulder of the woman. Perhaps the photo I posted needs to be larger or clearer. I'll repost a larger view if it shows it better. Would appreciate your input. Thanks very much, Sheila
