I have a WWII Luftwaffe Ace's stein Hauptmann Heinz Schumann, a Blue Max winner. The Stein is white , about 6" tall with his squadron Jagdgeschwader 2 Richtofen (Pursuit Squadron 2 over the Blue Max medal decoration on the side. It has 14 bars (to signify kills I assume) over the Squadron insignia a shield with red letter R inside also on the side. The bottom of the stein has a gold leaf Luftwaffe eagle over swastika and is marked Freudenstadt (molded into the ceramic) There is also a mark with the letters RZ inside on the bottom. The inside of the stein is a sky blue color. A number 2918 is also molded into the bottom. There is a silver Luftwaffe eagle over swastika just above Schumman's name on the side of the stein. The top of the handle also has a gold leaf Luftwaffe eagle with oak leaves surrounding. It does not have a hinged lid or provision for one. It was purchased in the 1970's from a reputable military collector from what I can acertain. I do not have digital photos but can obtain some in the next couple of days. I would like some help in establishing value as I need to sell as part of an estate. The Blue Max insignia is about two inches tall and raised from the surface of the mugs side. The silver luftwaffe eagle above Schumann's name is about 2 inches wide and is also raised from the surface of the stein.
