The "Abscheid" is from the Trumpeter of Sackingen and is one of ten illustrations by Carl Schweninger Jr. for a book by Josef Viktor von Scheffel. I'm not sure of the exact date of the book, but it was published in the 1880s and Schweninger did the Abscheid painting in 1887 or 88.
