That Imperial German Navy character reservist stein sold for around $8,000 + or -, six - eight years ago, but I think it's fair to say someone probably got "carried away" in that auction. In recent years, as best I can recall, this stein in mint condition has fetched $3,750 - $4,500. Although this reservist stein is very unusual, when it is seen the sailor's neck has often been repaired. Caveat Emptor!
