Looks like there was a problem in the link on my last post, here is a repost with hopefully a corrected link --
Hi All,
I've taken pictures of a few steins that I have and wanted to see if anyone would be so kind as to assist with ID.
You can view the pictures at the following link, unfortunately they jumbled a bit during upload but you should be able to match them from the descriptions below -- http://www.photobucket.com/albums/a343/augustiner_brew/ID
#1 is a dimpled salt glazed stein with cherubs, plain handle. No capacity mark that I can make out, although there may be a zero on the edge of the relief. It is 0.25L size. Marked Germany and 4 on the bottom.
#2 is an art noveau 1L stein, no lid, marked very clearly J.G.N. and with the # 6035 plus a patent statement. I couldn't locate the J.G.N mark in the marks pages but maybe didn't look hard enough? One question on this one, is it possible that the trim is is real gold? It is pretty metallic looking. The bottom of the picture says 'Abscheid'.
#3 appears to be a Girmscheid but I'm not certain as the scene is famaliar but not the same as those shown on the beerstein library and it is not a KB marked scene that I can tell. Still a Girmscheid but different artist maybe? Marked #2 and Germany on the bottom, couldn't see a capacity mark, it's 0.5L size.
#4 is a scene of drinking through the ages and has kind of a blobbed capacity mark 0.5L. Numbered 1460 and marked Germany on the bottom. Couldn't find a maker's mark.
Thanks in advance for any assistance!
John B.
