My mother in law has a Mettlach stein, 2126 From an article I located sometime ago, I found out the stein is titled Symphonia. I am curious what the other markings on the bottom might represent. There is a 34 that is engraved into the bottom just like the company name and the 2126. There is also what appears to be a 39 that appears to be painted on the bottom (?) Is anyone familiar with this stein and could help this novice understand the meaning of these numbers? Also we need to have this stein appraised for insurance and possibly selling it. What is the best way to find a local reputable appraiser of steins? I have had photos taken of the stein, but have not mastered posting photos. Thank you for your help.
