The "E" stands for Egon. If you check e-Bay and search for "Egon Bay" you will find several for sale. The DG6M probably reads DGBM, but should read DBGM. This is a "copy right" mark. Many lids are mis-marked in this manner. One pewter maker got it wrong and collectors have been confused ever since. Prior to WWII the mark read DRGM.
